Uche Jumbo, Choputa
Choputa means "discover" in the Igbo language that is spoken in the southeast region of Nigeria, Choputa founder Uche Jumbo's country of origin. Growing up eating whole foods that were nutrient-rich and delicious, Uche has always cared deeply about healthy, high-quality food. With a Bachelor of Arts in microbiology and Master's in biotechnology, she's spent more than a decade leading and managing quality and food safety programs in food manufacturing.
Choputa's Fonio Breakfast Cereal is the first of it's kind on the market. A hot breakfast cereal made using an ancient supergrain called "Fonio" grown in West Africa. It's a healthy alternative (that is "Gluten-Free", "Dairy - Free", Vegan, Whole Grain, 5g of protein and Non-GMO certified) to hot cereals currently in the market place e.g. Oats, Cream of wheat. For those who do not currently enjoy oats due to the taste or texture, or for those who enjoy it but are tired of eating it daily can enjoy their Fonio Breakfast cereal that offers a bit of a nutty texture and rich taste. It's naturally gluten free, contains 5 simple ingredients compared to what is on shelf and Choputa has a purpose behind it!
At Choputa, their mission is to source the finest fonio grain from their farmer partners in the sub-Saharan region of Africa to produce healthy and delicious breakfast cereal while also accelerating economic transformation.
