Ingredients
-
¾ cup nut butter
-
½ cup jam
12 slices bread
¼ tsp salt
3 large eggs
¾ cup milk
2 Tbsp. butter
Directions
Traditional: Spread 2 Tbsp of Sweet Ella's Organic Smooth Peanut Butter on six slices of bread. Spread 1 Tbsp of Blueberry Fig Jam on the remaining six slices.
Elevated: Spread 2 Tbsp of Cashew Butter on six slices of bread. Spread 1 Tbsp of Bang Bang Blueberry Lavender Jam on the remaining six slices.
Put one slice of nut butter-topped bread and one slice of jam-topped bread together to form a sandwich.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and salt until well-combined (*for a vegan version, whisk together JustEgg and almond milk). Pour mixture into a shallow pan or baking dish.
Carefully dip both sides of each sandwich in the egg mixture until evenly coated.
Tip: Use tongs for easy dipping.
In a large skillet, melt butter (or vegan butter) over medium heat. Lightly fry sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Top with Chicago Maple's Organic Grade A Amber Maple Syrup along with (optional) fresh berries, powdered sugar, and whipped cream!
