Ingredients
- 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 tablespoons Sunday Gravy Meatball and Garlic Bread Seasoning
- French or Italian bread, sliced lengthwise
- Pecorino Romano or Asiago cheese, grated
Directions
- Prepare the Saucepan: Place a saucepan on the stove over medium heat.
- Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic, butter, and olive oil to the saucepan. Stir to combine.
- Simmer Garlic Mixture: Allow the garlic to simmer gently in the butter and olive oil mixture for 3 to 8 minutes. Watch carefully to ensure that the garlic does not burn. You want it to start browning lightly.
- Add Seasoning: Once the garlic has started to brown, turn off the heat. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Sunday Gravy Meatball and Garlic Bread Seasoning.
- Chill the Mixture: Transfer the garlic and seasoning mixture to a small bowl. Place it in the refrigerator and chill until it becomes spreadable. This could take about 30 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: While the mixture is chilling, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Bread: Take your French or Italian bread and slice it lengthwise.
- Spread the Garlic Mixture: Once the garlic mixture is spreadable, remove it from the fridge. Spread it evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Add Cheese: Grate Pecorino Romano or Asiago cheese over the top of the spread.
- Bake the Bread: Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until the bread is crispy on the outside. This typically takes about 10-15 minutes, but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
- Serve: Once done, remove the bread from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
