KFire is an authentic Korean BBQ fast casual restaurant based in Chicago, Illinois that was founded by Ben Kim and Chef Eddie Hwang in 2018.
At an early age, Hwang developed a passion for food by spending time in the kitchen with his grandmother whom he credits for teaching him how to cook. First by learning to follow his grandmother’s recipes to eventually exploring and experimenting with recipes of his own, Hwang began to forge his own style of cooking which he ultimately honed and refined through culinary school and his time as a professional chef in a variety of fine dining kitchens.
With a philosophy centered on creating bright flavors that balance the richness and savory qualities of his ingredients, Hwang is persistently driven by his passion to share delicious meals with friends and family which ultimately led to KFire’s inception. With a unique take on a classic Korean menu KFire’s mission is to share the joy of delicious Korean BBQ to everyone.
