Regina Trillo, Nemi Snacks
Regina grew up in Mexico and when she moved to Chicago, one of the first things she did was go to the grocery store to scout for Mexican products. She went into the “ethnic aisle” and felt unrepresented as she didn’t find products portraying Mexico as she knew it. Instead, she noticed brands showcasing Mexico in a stereotypical way and with little opportunity for innovation. Regina created Nemi Snacks to share and elevate the flavors, colors and pride of Mexican culture. Nemi means “to live” in the Aztec language and we live for crunchy, addictive snacks. Nemi Snacks are fun and deeply delicious sticks made with nopales, the prickly pear paddle, and seeds in Mexican-inspired flavors using mercado-fresh spices and real ingredients.
