Since moving from Egypt to the United States in 2011, Founder Sherif Badawy found himself unsatisfied with

the quality of baklava he found in the market, if he could even find it. The pieces were so bulky that they would break with flakes everywhere, and they were made with too much dough, too little nuts, and completely drenched in syrup. Sound familiar?

Growing up in the Middle East, Sherif knew a higher quality of baklava was out there, and he wanted to bring it to the United States. As a pediatrician and marathon runner with a strong passion for health and fitness, he also saw the opportunity for the baklava to be better for you, with more nuts and less dough and syrup. He toured different manufacturers and sampled baklava in a number of countries until he found his dream in Jordan: healthy baklava with 80% premium nuts in every piece, more protein, reduced sugar, no artificial ingredients, finger-digit-size bites (portion-control) with minimum syrup (2-3%), hence the slogan, “No Sticky Fingers,” compared to other baklava that are 50-60% syrup.
