Suhey Peppers
Kara Suhey, Suhey Peppers
What do you feed 30 football fans at your house cheering on a bowl game? In the 1970s, Ginger Suhey had three sons playing on the Penn State football field. (One son, Matt, went onto play for the Chicago Bears!) She perfected a hot pepper recipe to serve on cheese & crackers or anything coming off the grill on game day. They became a big hit in the PA & PSU community.
The Suhey’s made the peppers by hand in the garage for many years until 2010 when Ginger's son Paul officially founded Suhey Peppers. He did this not with visions of a pepper empire but mainly to make sure he would never run out of peppers himself. He's the brand's biggest fan and regularly eats through a significant portion of their inventory!
Kara Suhey (Ginger's granddaughter) and husband AJ took the reins and began to grow the business in 2023. These two don't play football, but they tailgate like they're Division I. Today, Suhey Peppers is a small family-run company, and Kara Suhey absolutely loves sharing her grandma's legendary pepper recipe. Suhey Peppers is committed to using simple ingredients and recyclable materials and remains woman-owned and family-owned.
