Sisters Celene and Tara Carrara, founders of Bungkus Bagus (AKA "Good Package"), grew up in Bali, Indonesia and started their company as a love letter to the people and place that raised them. From a driveway pop-up to the LA Times 101 Best Restaurants, Bungkus Bagus has been driven by a longing to share the magic of their childhood overseas. For them, there’s a singular joy in savoring warm rice, salty fish and a spoonful of sambal on the steps of their dad’s carving shop in Ubud. They've dreamt of a bridge between their two worlds, a way to bottle that bliss. Now, it's here. Sambal Goreng is a dry Indonesian chili topping made with fried shallots, garlic, bird's eye chili, and salt.
