Our cultural heritage and background is what makes us unique, and how we incorporate these cultural traditions and values into our cooking brings us together, helping to celebrate our diversity. Here Here Market brings to you a collection of our favorite products by Hispanic creators, incorporating the rich flavor profiles and recipes shared by those of Hispanic heritage.
Regina, Nemi Snacks
Regina grew up in Mexico and when she moved to Chicago, one of the first things she did was go to the grocery store to scout for Mexican products. She went into the “ethnic aisle” and felt unrepresented as she didn’t find products portraying Mexico as she knew it. Instead, she noticed brands showcasing Mexico in a stereotypical way and with little opportunity for innovation. Regina created Nemi Snacks to share and elevate the flavors, colors and pride of Mexican culture.
Joline, Eat Your Greens
Joline has been breaking barriers since childhood. She defied the odds of her background, becoming financially independent by 18, becoming the first person in her Mexican-American family to earn a BA in graphic design and a master’s degree in advertising design, both while working full-time. After realizing the significant proposed health benefits in the cannabis industry, she founded Red Belly Honey based on such a premise; she knows first hand that taking charge of your health can be life-changing and empowering.
Eli, That Taco Guy
Eli's passion for cooking started as a young child when he would spend hours in the kitchen with his mom, and this inspired him to start his own food truck to offer his home-cooked, unique taco combinations to the community. The love and laughter that would fill his mom's kitchen has fueled his drive to bring that joy to everyone who eats at their truck, sharing their family recipe for candied jalapeño with its patrons and jarring them to share with the world.
Chef Ernesto, El Molcajete Sauces
El Molcajete Sauces was created in 2017 by Chef Ernesto Rodriguez in San Francisco, CA. Having recently relocated to Chicago two years ago, he claims it has been an amazing journey as the seasons inspire him. Ernesto creates sauces that represent his home of Oaxaca, Mexico. Oaxaca is known for their mole sauces and is often called "The Land of the Seven Moles." While growing up, all of his meals revolved around the sauces that his family prepared, so he now loves to create the sauces that are close to his heart and represent his childhood.
