This sauce is perfect for giving way to the classic Chicago-style of barbecue of giving a short smoke or grilling to meat, then smothering it in a sweet, tomato-based sauce.

Honey is the prominent flavor in this Sweet Southern Honey Molasses Barbecue Sauce, but it's mellowed out with the dark flavor profile of molasses, giving a rolling flavor profile from sweet to rich molasses to the umami of Worcestershire sauce. This is a versatile, everyday sauce.

It is great for caramelizing meats on the grill, glazing chicken or ribs, or marinating your pulled pork.

Chicago Johnny's was started during the '09 recession as Johnny graduated college into an economy that just wasn't hiring. He started making giardiniera in his parents' basement, aunts' kitchen, and whoever would let him cut up a hundred pounds of vegetables all day.
